Phoenix, GrabPay double down on contactless transactions across fuel stations

by MotoMag Philippines

Phoenix – the Philippines’ fastest growing petroleum company, together with GrabPay – Southeast Asia’s leading mobile wallet, has announced its cashback campaign to further encourage more motorists and consumers to pay cashless every time they gas up in Phoenix stations.

This campaign will be available across 273 Phoenix stations nationwide, and will offer a P50 cashback for every P500 worth of Phoenix fuels paid cashless via GrabPay. Apart from the cashback, Cebu and Davao motorists will also get an additional P130 Grab promo code for every P200 worth of Phoenix transaction paid using GrabPay. The promo code can be used to avail exciting discounts on GrabFood and other available Grab services in Cebu and Davao.

“Since last year, we have been firm about our thrust for safer and secure transactions in our stations, hence we have been offering contactless options to our customers. We are glad to partner with GrabPay, one of the ePayment options that we accept in our stations, for yet another promo–a cashback that encourages and rewards users whenever they gas up with Phoenix,” Phoenix President Henry Albert Fadullon said.

“Cashless payment is an important aspect of our lives as it provides Filipinos with a safe yet practical way of paying for their everyday transactions. While many Filipinos have relied on e-wallets for their cashless payments, there are still those who are yet to unlock its many unique benefits. Our partnership with Phoenix Petroleum is a clear expression of our commitment to provide our consumers with a safe, seamless, and the most rewarding cashless payment solution. And we hope that through this partnership, we continue to meaningfully grow an inclusive cashless society, and build a stronger and more resilient digital-first economy,” said Grab Financial Group Philippines Country Head Martha A. Borja.

The two-month-long cashback promo will last until October 31, 2021. Participating stations include 58 sites in Metro Manila, 124 stations in Luzon, 37 sites in Visayas, and 54 stations in Mindanao.

In June last year, Phoenix started offering contactless transactions in its stations in a bid to help stop the spread of COVID-19 infections through paper bills and cards. Together with Grab Philippines, the company has also been offering various discounts to motorists nationwide to help cushion the effect of the pandemic on the transport sector.
