KTM Philippines Launches KTM Riders Academy

by MotoMag Philippines

KTM Philippines, in cooperation with Ayala Land, Inc., launches the KTM Riders Academy. The program sets out to make off-road motorcycling more accessible through safe and enjoyable experiences.

KTM has unparalleled expertise in the two-wheel offroad world, and is the leading force in offroad motorsport competitions worldwide and offers a comprehensive range of off-road capable machines. The KTM Riders Academy was born out of the need to share the joys and rewards of the sport with as many people as possible.

The KTM Riders Academy offers training courses in the techniques of offroad riding within a one-day or two-day program, depending on the course. It caters to riders of all skill levels – from complete beginners to seasoned riders seeking a tailored and effective way to hone their riding abilities.

The courses offer specific coaching on single-cylinder specialist enduro machines as well as on larger displacement, travel-oriented multi-cylinder motorcycles. The courses will be taught by two of KTM Philippines’ elite instructors, namely Mr. Jermell F. Sevilla and Mr. Patrick North C. Orbe, both of whom were sent to Phuket, Thailand to train and get certified by KTM Master Trainers from Europe. They were selected according to their outstanding riding experience, previous coaching experience, professionalism, and personable attitude.

The inaugural batch of KTM offroad Instructors have been trained in comprehensive aspects of operating a premium riding school, including the theory and practice of riding techniques, coaching methodology, and safety principles. The curriculum has been developed by certified federal instructors who boast an education in sports anatomy, experience in competitive motorcycle racing and a diverse coaching background. The program is assured to provide both effective learning and memorable experiences for participants.

The KTM Riders Academy courses will take place in KTM Philippines’ newest off-road training facilities in Vermosa in Imus, Cavite and in Alviera in Porac, Pampanga. Both off-road training facilities were meticulously designed to simulate real-world off-road environments to better train students on proper off-road riding techniques and also to teach them how to maximize the true potential of their KTM motorcycles.

“Two years after production of the 790 CKD Family line (790 Duke, 790 Adventure S and 790 Adventure R) began at our KAMMI factory in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, I am happy to announce the introduction of two CKD models to the KTM Philippines lineup– the KTM 300 EXC TPI Six Days and KTM 350 EXC-F TPI Six Days, for both domestic and export markets. These high performance endure motorcycles will soon be coming off fresh from the KAMMI factory and Ready to Race on the dirt, another testament to the Filipino talent.

Like many, our business was not spared by the CoVid-19 pandemic, but fortunately our export demands continue to keep us moving forward. Today, the export markets contribute around 80 percent of the factory output, not only securing much needed jobs for the Filipino workers but also giving us pride that the Filipino is building world-class motorcycles for Asia. This important undertaking also makes our motorcycles priced more competitively, and more Filipinos can now be proud owners of KTM motorcycles. Owning a KTM would also mean supporting our local automotive industry.

What better way to enjoy the KTM 300 EXC TPI Six Days and KTM 350 EXC-F TPI Six Days than enrolling in the KTM Riders Academy? As our way of saying ‘thank you’, buyers of these exceptional enduro machines will get complimentary classes courtesy of KTM Philippines.”

“KTM is committed to the growth of the offroad motorcycle community in Asia. We believe that off-road motorcycling is a truly unique sport that can bring people together with endless outdoors fun. It is also a great way to challenge the rider’s personal limits and embark on thrilling adventures. With the KTM Riders Academy, now anyone can enter this wonderful world in total safety and start creating lifelong memories. Many

countries in Asia present the perfect natural playground and we are looking forward to sharing our passion and lifestyle with more and more people.”
